Education

Public education has been, and will continue to be, a backbone for communities across our state, as it is a vital investment for the future of our state. I am proud of our state’s long history of supporting education at all levels – from early childhood programs and our K-12 system, through our colleges and universities.

Healthcare

As a life-long nurse, fighting to increase affordable access to quality healthcare is one of the primary reasons I first ran for office. I understand the complex healthcare issues facing our state and know we must work together to find solutions that reduce costs, while ensuring access to quality care for individuals of all ages.

Jobs and the Economy

It is vital that we continue to focus on creating a more vibrant economy and growing more family-sustaining jobs. This must involve targeted economic growth – both within the greater Milwaukee area and the state level - that fosters an environment for family-sustaining jobs.

Know The Facts

Recent attack ads funded by Darling’s special interest friends have achieved the height of hypocrisy and could not further distort the reality of Sandy’s priorities and voting record. These ads fail to mention that Sandy voted against the Walker/Darling budget that slashes funding for public schools by $1.8 billion and cuts our state’s vital medical assistance programs by almost a half billion dollars.

Public Safety

Fighting for the safety of our communities has been a top priority of mine for many years. Even before coming into office, I have gained the respect of law enforcement and other public safety officials by working with them to protect our streets and homes. One of my proudest accomplishments is having coordinated Milwaukee's Crisis Intervention Team and Crisis Intervention Partner program.

State Budget

Our state budget is a moral document that represents the blueprint for Wisconsin’s shared vision as a state. Unfortunately, the Darling/Walker budget signifies a radical reversal of our state’s long-held values and priorities by approving a budget that funds corporate tax breaks and special interest handouts while slashing billions of dollars from public education, healthcare, and local services.

Worker's Rights

Sandy supports collective bargaining rights that protect Wisconsin working men and women from unfair treatment, unsafe working conditions and other job-related issues. Sandy also knows that everyone, from public workers to big corporations, must do their part to get Wisconsin fiscal house in order. We need shared sacrifice in these tough times.
