Election Information
When is the General Election?
Election Day is on Tuesday, August 9th from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. As long as you are in line by 8:00 PM, you must be allowed to vote. Before you vote, be sure you know your voting rights.
Where do I vote?
Go to http://vpa.wi.gov to find your polling place.
Do I need a photo ID?
NO. You cannot be denied a regular ballot if you do not show a photo ID at the polls. You will be asked to show a photo ID when you vote in person. If you are denied your right to vote, call 608-260-2421.
I just moved to a new address. Do I need to register to vote before Election Day?
NO. Wisconsin law allows you to register and vote on the same day. However, you must be able to provide proof that you have lived at your current Wisconsin residence for at least 28 days before the election. You can find more information about your voting rights here.
Who should I contact if I have problems voting?
If you have problems at the polls, or you are denied the ability to vote, you can reach the Voter Protection Hotline at 608-260-2421.
